Is HP’s Scout Pro going to transform scanning for the 3D industry?

HP’s Scout Pro uses a touch-sensitive mat that sits on the desk in front of the PC and an arm that extends from above the monitor. To use the touch sensitive canvas mat, place your objects to be scanned via a 3D camera that extends out of the top of the monitor. Then export your scans into your 3D builder software.
The mat can also replace an actual keyboard with a virtual keyboard. With a starting price of $2,199, it will be interesting to see Scout Pro in action and it’s easy of use.
